Wednesday, October 30th, 2019

Nexsen Pruet – a regional law firm with international strength – is reinforcing its commitment to providing innovative legal services solutions and broader access to holistic risk management with the launch of its NP general counsel360.

The solution is designed to give businesses the ability to have Nexsen Pruet manage either a portion or all of their legal services needs without billing by the hour. Building its general counsel services on the robust capabilities of its 20 practice areas, 17 industry groups, and a range of innovative programs, Nexsen Pruet will now tailor strategies to manage risk and advise clients specific to their organizational priorities and operational objectives, all for a fixed monthly fee.

Carrie Palmer, who has a broad background in traditional and general counsel solutions, will work closely with Paul Dominick, Managing Member of the Charleston office, to introduce the program for Nexsen Pruet. Palmer joins the firm after spending 10 years developing and growing outsourced legal department models in the central United States.

“This innovative approach leverages customized strategies for business to ensure consistent, targeted legal services at a fixed price,” said Paul Dominick. “I’m excited to work with Carrie to make these exceptional solutions available to our clients.”

Palmer has developed general counsel strategies for a wide-variety of clients with unique challenges – from start-ups to small businesses and resource-constrained non-profits, all the way to large companies requiring multi-level outsource programs or supplemental legal services for specialty areas.

“At Nexsen Pruet, we recognize the importance of providing businesses with access to forward-thinking, client-centric attorneys who share our commitment to delivering a service-based approach to managing legal risk,” said Leighton Lord, Chairman of Nexsen Pruet. “Carrie checks every box in that regard. She’s creative, high-energy and on the cutting-edge of general counsel services.”

Palmer said joining Nexsen Pruet will allow more clients to experience the value of this program. “With such a deep bench of experience across practically every aspect of the law, Nexsen Pruet is well-positioned to address this innovative way of providing legal services and managing legal risk from virtually any angle,” Palmer explained. “NP general counsel360 gives us the platform to feature the firm’s comprehensive capabilities in a solution that provides predictability, delivered in a package that can easily fit within a company’s budget. Clients benefit from superior legal counsel through a fixed-cost strategy that is customized to their unique industry and operations. It’s truly a win-win.”

In addition to her work on general counsel solutions, Palmer, a seasoned litigator, speaker, and strategic planner, will provide data privacy, security, and technology consulting as well as defense and consulting to the transportation industry. Palmer will work from the firm’s Charleston, South Carolina location, and will continue to serve her central United States clients.
