Guy Furay One of Few Candidates Rated “Excellent” by Upstate Chambers

Out of the 19 candidates running for congress, local business leader Guy Furay is one of four rated excellent, according to a comprehensive survey done by the Greenville, Spartanburg and Greer Chambers of Commerce.
Furay is running as an American Party candidate for the Fourth Congressional District in South Carolina. All 18 candidates were scored based on their answers to a questionnaire and in-person interviews on topics such as trade, taxes, immigration, regulations, energy and education.
“We are excited to be one of the very few candidates in a crowded field to receive an excellent evaluation. These groups are literally the voice of business, both large and small, in the Upstate,” he said. “They focus on jobs and growth and confronting our challenges to improve economic opportunity for all in the 4th Congressional District. I’m proud to stand with those pro-business job creators in Greenville and Spartanburg.”
A graduate of the University of Missouri, Furay began his insurance career in 1997 with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. Furay earned the FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) and GBA (Group Benefits Associate) designations. He also completed four of the eight graduate level courses to earn the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. Since 2005, he has been the owner and president of The Insurance Source, an independent insurance agency serving the Upstate.
In the past few years, he has been recognized as one of Healthcare.gov’s Elite Circle of Champions; a three time winner of the Soaring Eagle Awardfrom National Association of Health Underwriters; a current member of Leadership Greer, a graduate of the Greenville Chamber Advanced Political Leadership program; a graduate of Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce Advanced Political Leadership program, and an Upstate Chamber Coalition Washington DC Delegation participant.
