Gas Prices Continue to Climb in The Carolinas
Staff Report From South Carolina CEO
Tuesday, February 26th, 2019
Gas prices creep higher across the Carolinas as they hit their fourth straight week of increases. Despite the climb, they remain cheaper year-over-year.
North Carolina’s $2.30 average is up 12 cents on the week and 13 cents on the month, but still nine cents cheaper than this time last year. South Carolina’s $2.15 average is 11 cents higher than last week and 14 cents higher than last month, yet remains 10 cents cheaper than last year.
“We've been spoiled with cheap gas prices for several months now," said Tiffany Wright. "Pump prices will most likely fluctuate over the next couple of weeks and continue an upward trend as refineries start maintenance and begin the switch to the more expensive summer-blend of gasoline."
