Spartanburg Water Announces Promotions and Hires

Spartanburg Water is pleased to announce the employment of Asha McMillian in the position of Sr. HR Specialist for the Human Resources department. In her role, Asha will be providing recruiting services and overseeing the corporate training program.
Asha has over 10 years of experience in the Human Resources field, five of which involved her managing a high-volume recruiting project, which hired thousands of people annually in the Upstate of SC.
Mrs. McMillian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Human Resources Management from Charleston Southern University. Additionally, she holds her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification from the Society of Human Resources Management and is a graduate of the SC Riley Institute at Furman University’s Diversity Leaders Initiative (DLI).
Spartanburg Water is pleased to announce the promotion of Daniel “Rocky” Smith to the position of Field Coordinator for the Collection and Distribution Division of the organization. In his new role Rocky will supervise, coordinate and manage the day-to-day work activities associated with the construction and/or rehabilitation of current and future infrastructure associated with the collection and distribution systems.
Mr. Smith joined Spartanburg Water in April of 2001 and has over 17 years of experience. He has continually progressed throughout his career from a Team Member 1, to a Team Leader 1 in 2011 and a Team Leader 2 in 2014. Rocky is certified as a Cross Connection/Backflow Tester. He currently has a Water Distribution Operator permit.
Spartanburg Water is pleased to announce the promotion of Amanda Hall to the position of New Connections Coordinator. In her new role, Amanda will be responsible for the coordination of daily activities and operations of the New Connections department.
Amanda began her employment with Spartanburg Water in 2012 in Customer Service. She has served as a New Connections Representative since 2014. Amanda holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina, Upstate.
